Resume Incomplete Downloads

I was downloading Ubuntu Studio the other day and being 1.4Gb I left it downloading while I went off for the day. However, when I returned I saw the download had stopped at 58%!

Not wanting to waste time, bandwidth and money downloading it again I did a little search and found out about ‘wget‘. It contains a command to resume incomplete downloads. So I only had to open the terminal in the folder where the file is contained and enter the following “wget -c http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntustudio/releases/9.10/release/ubuntustudio-9.10-alternate-i386.iso“

The ‘ -c ‘ is the command used to continue a download and as long as you open the terminal from the folder containing the file, wget will continue the download from where it originally finished.

The other day I had spent the day with some relatives and afterwards I drove to the hospital to visit my granny. After arriving home, and being exhausted from a long day, I decided to have an early night.

Half-way between sleep and consciousness I heard a knock on my window, then a minute later a knock on my door.

A Case of Icarus-itis

Yesterday I was playing some TH’e on Pokerstars. “Good” wasn’t the word for how I was playing… my game was “on point!”

Summer is drawing to a close,

All I have left now

is a view onto Autumn

with the thought of Winter

corner…

but I feel safe in the Knowledge

that once the cold, crisp air brushes against the undergrowth of my forest bed,

I too, shall be reborn anew,

Amidst the endless cycle of time. “

Weaknesses & Vulnerabilities

Knowing when to quit and actually doing so are two completely different things.

When I am playing online poker (texas hold’em), I feel like I am learning something new every time I play. However, sometimes I wish I would just listen to that little voice inside my head that says
